Understanding Your 2026 Benefits

"I am so thankful for this dental office. I had tooth pain and was frustrated with the dentists in my hmo as they were only looking to provide services that lined their pockets but not to solve my issue.

I was referred to Dr Mostafa by one of my coworkers that is a patient and decided to try even though I would be paying out of pocket.

My first call to this office was a delight. Office staff Meghan listened to me patiently, explained cost of self pay, and got me in quickly to deal with my pain. Upon arrival, office staff Heather got me processed quickly. Technician Kirstie took my X-rays and was caring and upbeat. Dr. Mostafa was quick to diagnose the cause of my pain. He removed my abscessed tooth and problem solved. No pushy sales pitch like the chain dentists.

This dental office is a true blessing to me and I will be changing to a ppo dental plan and making them my and my husband’s dentist going forward. I am beyond pleased and grateful to be out of pain. Thank you, Dr. Mostafa and your wonderful staff."

As many of you know, the start of a new year means new dental benefits. And understanding how to make the most of your benefits is an absolute must. If your insurance is changing, please give us a call to inform us of those changes. We want to make sure we accept your new plan and can give each patient accurate estimates of treatment. After we have updated your information, we can get you scheduled for your next appointment.

If you forgot to use up your benefits in 2025, we have a few tips and tricks to ensure you make the most of your benefits next year. The first one is using your benefits. You pay each year to have dental benefits, so why not use them? If you are worried about the cost, we will always go over the cost with you before moving forward with treatment. We do offer financing options through CareCredit. Charges of $250 are higher so we can offer 6 months no interest. And any charge of $1000 or more we offer 12 months of no interest.

Next, we highly recommend scheduling your follow-up appointment when you leave the office. We do use a recall system to remind patients of their outstanding treatment and unscheduled cleanings IF you opt for that service, but, remember, our hygiene schedule fills up quickly, and we may not have an appointment available if you call when you are due for your cleaning.

This next tip is to know how to understand your coverage. We are happy to go over your treatment and copay for each visit. We get a breakdown for each patient that comes in. There are a lot of hidden clauses and loopholes the insurance must get out of paying for things. We like to be prepared for the worst-case scenarios! We also suggest you call your insurance and review your new benefits. Request a booklet and materials so you can prepare for all costs.

And finally, our last tip is don’t wait until the end of the year to get your dental work done. This is especially important if you have any treatment such as fillings or crowns, get them done as soon as possible. If you wait until the end of the year, we may not have room on schedule.

While we are very close to the end of the year, we still may have appointments available. We may be able to use what we can for your remaining maximum this year. We would rather get paid by the insurance company than out of your pocket! And if you are having pain or discomfort, please call to get an appointment right away. Depending on the insurance, we may have to wait to do major treatment until we receive a pre-treatment estimate unless you want to pay in full. Those pre-authorizations can take 2 weeks or longer to get back.

We hope you have a wonderful end to the year and wish you a happy holiday season!
