Happy Back to School Month from American Family & Cosmetic Dentistry! We hope you've enjoyed your summer so far. Now that it's August, we're getting ready for back-to-school, and today's blog is centered on helping prepare your family for the new school year.
Kick off the new school year with an exam and cleaning! New Patients with no insurance can take advantage of our New Patient Special for $129 including all x-rays and prophylaxis cleaning.
As your family prepares to go back to school, make sure everyone brushes at least twice a day and maintains their routine dental cleanings and exams as directed by the doctor. We also recommend avoiding gummies or sticky candy, especially for those who have braces.
If your student is wearing braces or Invisalign, we recommend bringing a few dental essentials to help brush or rinse off teeth before putting aligners back in. This will help prevent sugars and foods from getting trapped on teeth which can cause decay long term.
Have a student athlete? If so, it's important to protect their smile. We recommend getting them properly fitted for a mouthguard to prevent their teeth from any damage, especially if they are playing a contact sport.
Since everyone is trying to book their visit before school starts, our schedule is filling up fast! If you need to book an appointment, give the office a call and we'd be happy to get you on a cancellation list for cleanings. If you need to see the doctor for an emergency or routine exam, let us know as we can see patients relatively quickly.
